The author is a physics professor at Howard University in Washington, DC. In collaborations with scientists at the NIH and the Cardiovascular Research Center of the University of Iowa he studied the electrical activities of the brain and the heart. He implemented neural networks in the interpretation of satellite imageries, in collaboration with NASA scientists. His other books are "Understanding Brain and Mind: a connectionist perspective" and "Physics for Architects".
